When he was defeated by Ayano Kannagi, one of his very distant relatives, in a bout to decide who would wield "Enraiha" (炎雷覇?, Blaze Lightning Supremacy), a sword that was wielded by the family heir, he was banished from the family. Four years later, he returns as a master of "Fūjutsu" (風術?, Wind Technique), the power to control wind, and with a new name: Kazuma Yagami. Soon after his return, he is reunited with Ayano and his younger brother, Ren, who is also gifted in Enjutsu. Soon, however, Kannagi family members are killed and the murder weapon is revealed to be Fūjutsu. Now Kazuma has to fight his family to prove that he is not the murderer.

The story revolves around Tazusa Sakurano, a Japanese Olympic figure skating candidate, and Pete Pumps, a Canadian stunt pilot. During a qualifying round in Montreal, Canada, Tazusa falls in the middle of a Triple Lutz and loses consciousness. At the same time, Pete dies mid-performance when his stunt plane crashes due to mechanical trouble. Unfortunately for Tazusa, Pete ends up involuntarily inhabiting her body for 100 days.

This story revolves around a girl named Anis Yamamoto. She was given a choker by her father, who told her not to remove it or she will be punished. One fateful day, she was hit by mysterious black creature and caused her choker fell off. Worrying about her father finding out, she looks for the black creature. However, before the black creature flew away, it spat out a red card. Right before she captures it, she falls into a mysterious pit, where she sees a giant monster and her science teacher, Itsushi, heavily injured. Itsushi notices that she has the card and tells her to kiss it. Once she kissed the Card, it summoned her "rival", Kaede which he reveals is a Rhode Knight. He then attacks the big dragon making it transformed to the previous black creature. Itsushi explains the black creature is the guardian of the cards, Ninufa, and gives her 4 different cards for her to summon the other Rhode Knights. Once she summons the rest, she discovers the other 4 Rhode Knights are the 4 boys in school: Tenjou, Asagi, Kaede, and Mutsuki.
In the end, the one of the Knights that Anis will chose as her partner will become the "True Rose."

ayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei revolves around a very pessimistic high school teacher named Nozomu Itoshiki who, at the very beginning of the series, tries to hang himself on a sakura tree. He is saved by an extremely optimistic girl known only as Kafuka Fuura (though in her effort to save his life, she almost kills him). She explains to him that it is simply unimaginable that he would hang himself on such a nice day, especially in front of such beautiful trees. She decides to nickname Nozomu "Pink Supervisor" (桃色係長 Momoiro Kakarichō?), and offers to pay him fifty yen to call him by that nickname. After having enough of the strange girl, Nozomu bolts to the school and starts his homeroom class, but the attempt to escape was in vain as he finds that the girl is one of his students. Not only that, but Kafuka is just the tip of the iceberg: each and every student in his class represents a new personality quirk or bizarre obsession, posing challenges that the suicidally-inclined teacher must overcome in spite of himself.
